GOATMAN REVIEW
Caleb LaBord After the Flick Goatman Review (Spoiler Free) It was an honor and a privilege to be able to receive an exclusive viewing of the Goatman and review it before the film is released this weekend. After viewing I can confidently say it was…awesome. I really enjoyed how this film plays with the audience and has you expecting one thing and then instantaneously flips the whole story on the head. I enjoy seeing original films taking something you thought you knew and doing something completely different. That's a testament to the director's vision in wanting to make some reminiscent of classic slasher films but also something quite new. I liked the score a lot. It was masterful in its eerie sound and fit the tone well. The characters are dynamic, feel real and believable, like people you would meet in a town near you; unlike a lot of movies in this genre where the characters are a bit dense. There's also an interesting distinction between what's real, fiction, and the blurred line in between that's played out throughout the picture; that I thought was quite cool. With that said, my only criticism is that I want more! And that's something any great picture should do. I think this is a really neat story on its own but also serves as a solid starting point for future projects to continue this interesting tale that I'm sure Shutterstinct will undoubtedly make in the future. This film serves as a nice throwback to the classics whilst also having its own unique flair in doing new things with something you thought you knew. Plus there's a catchy little theme song in there that I can't seem to get out of my head. I'm looking forward to more from this team, thank you for the early viewing, it was much appreciated.
